Jo Petersen's acrylic paintings use a visual language of bold, abstract design to grab the viewer and hopefully bring them back for a second and third look. Each original work of art is a conversation piece projecting excitement, mood, and movement through the use of dramatic shape, high contrast, harmonious color and mark making. Jo's intention is to spark an emotional reaction, to trigger a memory, or just leave the viewer with a sense of wonder or surprise.
